Interstate News:  - (Posted:26 November, 2018)

Cody Brown, son of former Broken Hill Basketballer Leon Brown, was a playing member of the Townsville Heat Boys U/14 Rep Team that competed in the 2018 Queensland State Championships.

Townsville Heat Boys U/14 Rep Team, were successful in defeating Cairns in the Grand Final in Townsville earlier this year.

I have uploaded some photos in the "Miscellaneous Photos" album on this website.

They went on to compete in the Australian U/14 Club Championships, but only made it to 10th best U/14 Boys Basketball team in Australia, which was an incredible result for a team which were only dreaming of a position in the top 12 teams.

Although Cody is a Queenslander, having been born in Townsville, he has a link to Broken Hill Basketball through his father, Leon.

Cody has actually played a game of basketball in Broken Hill a few years ago.

We should should be proud of anyone who has achieved great things in their chosen sport. I know I am, because I am his grandfather.
